Copper Nickel Composite Slip On Flanges Copper nickel composite slip onflange is made of inner flange , also called collar & backing flange (loose flange). The collar is welded with copper nickel pipes , the backing flange can be active. Collar is the sealing surface, the role of the backing flange is to press them. Because of collar is blocked, backing flange does not contact with the media. Cuni slip on flanges connections are applied, in low-pressure and non critical applications, and is a cheap method of flanging , normally used in shipment.
Composite slip-on flanges are a type of flange used to connect pipes, valves, pumps, and other equipment in a piping system. These flanges are called "composite" because they are made from two different materials: typically a combination of a metal flange and a non-metallic gasket facing material.
